Possible 1,000 room Marriott proposed for Mall block.

Both the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News reported a few months back that Marriott is looking to expand its hotel located on West Temple, across from the Salt Palace Convention Center. The hotel, if expanded, would become Salt Lake's largest with around 1,000 rooms. Currently the Marriott Hotel on that site houses around 500 rooms. The upgrade is in the primary stages of development and little news has been issued on the hotel.
